Cornell's Ocean Atlas

Anyone have experience with this product. I was looking at buying the standard Atlantic Pilot Atlas now in its fifth edition but this covers all the oceans for about the same price. Thoughts?

Re: Cornell's Ocean Atlas

I too was wondering what the difference was between Cornell's new book and the U.S Pilots I've already downloaded and the Admiralty Pilot book I already bought?

The description, despite my admiration and enjoyment of Mr. Cornell's other works, makes it sound a touch superfluous.

Basically Pilot Charts are a product of statistical data. The way they are presented is important, but it may be a matter of taste. What really counts is that the Cornell's P.C. are the result of twenty years of meteo satellite data. They have been put together by Jimmy's son Ivan, a real computer wizard in addition to be a world circumnavigator, and his father, whose forty years experience as sailor and author of several essential books have gained him a world wide fame.
Do I have have experience with their new Charts? Of course not: they have just been published. Wait till next springtime though. Fair winds.

You can get similar data from here:
The COGOW project uses 1999-2009 QuikSCAT satellite measurements of wind speed and direction:
