coolant water take off from Yanmar 3gm30

This engine still has original painted coolant hoses... The water heater is built to accept hotwater from the engine and I would like to have that option....also would like to install 2 cabin heaters off the engine heat....any reason why I shouldn't or thoughts about it would be appreciated.

I'm ok with the water heater. Running two additional cabin heaters it too much heat sink. The engine wont come to temp properly and stay there.

The following is my opinion only. It's worth what you paid for it.

I think it would add too much complexity and chance for failure with a critical engine system. Why not run your coolant to the water heater. Then pipe your domestic water thru the heater cores.

I like the idea but how would you do a return line to the water heater?...feel like I might be missing something ...

T it in where the cold comes in. Might require it's own pump and a check valve up stream on the cold side. But loosing drinking water Vs coolant is more appealing to me.
