CE Approved boats

To import a boat to sweden she need to be CE approved. And my question is, is all newer(from 2000) boats ce approved even in US?

And to add to the question, how does one find out if the boat is CE approved? Would my '84 Westerly built under Lloyds of London LR certification be approved?

Some Foreign made boats are CE approved and some are not.
Make sure that you actually see the CE approval form like the attachment before you order a boat and that it is stated on your contract that the boat is CE category A approved !!

No your Westerly is from before CE approval
This only started in the late 90,s so that also means that you do not need CE approval

They should be since the main market is Europe for Beneteau,s
This will go for most boats that are build for the Euro market but always ask for proof.
I know 2 people that had ordered cats and where told these where CE approved but unfortunately where never delivered with the certificate or approval.

I was looking into this recently, and found the name of a SAMS surveyor in Ft. Lauderdale who does CE certificate surveys. I am sure he can give you complete details he is Dave Morris ph. 954 525-6806.
Good luck,
Steve

You can´t order a fastcat to the spring 2009 soo i had to take a look at other brands. Even if i can calculate with weight on all options on your pricelist Fastcat435. Fastcat is on my "i like list" but NO used is for sale.

But if you bought a Outremer from the beginning of 2000 or a few years old Lavezzi or Orana it must have CE approvement? They are build in Europe even if i bought the boat in US. If a boat is sold NEW to USA does it always have the CE plate and certificat plate.
