Its amazing how we (as modern humans) freak out over a single
ship losing oil
. During wwii there were literally thousands of ships sunk. Mostly merchant ships, some of the older ones were coal fired, but the majority of them were oil. Yet, with all that destruction ,there isnt a black stripe around the edge of the oceans. Somehow mother earth takes care of these messes. Yes, it makes a temporary mess and yes some sea life is lost
. But in reality, the planet, very cleverly tidies up after mankind makes a snafu of the environment
Over 50 US ships (not inc UK, OZ, Canadian etc) were lost at Normandy alone
Around 160 in the Carribean.
Still there is no black stripe.
