No, it's like debating with JW's It's not a matter of science so much as a matter of belief. MMGW alarmism is based on climate models. You're fighting against a belief that these models have any resemblance to reality despite all the evidence to the contrary.

There is no way you are going to change these beliefs in an online forum. It takes many hours of discussion and a huge amount of explanation of the data to de-program them.

That wouldn't do it either. So much emotional energy has been invested in campaigning for something they were convinced was virtuous, now that they are proven to be fools, whose willingness to waste money chasing windmills is really hurting people, it will be the rare person who can acknowledge they were wrong. So they will soldier on, abusing any scientist who practices the scientific method by actually trying to build a model that works, and hope that disaster is just around the corner so they will feel vindicated. Fortunately for all of us, we now know they are wrong, and even if they will never admit it, they probably do to.

Thread still here because it's been civil, so far. Problem I have with these kinds of threads is after reading thru most of them over the years (while staying out of the substantive fray, as I have zero expertise) I still have no more idea who's correct than I ever did.

Let's face it: As more or less wealthy yacht owners or wannabees, we are likely one of the brightest and well-educated group of folks on the planet, and obviously we can't reach a consensus. And we all know, to a captain and admiral and furry friends, that consensus does not mean a damn thing.

Heck, some of our loudest shouters can't bother with spell check. I don't think these folks realize how much an argument is diminished by lazy scholarship. I note with some amusement how often, in their haste to post, a member OBVIOUSLY doesn't bother to proof read their post. Tsk tsk.

Sooooo, yawn, fight on guys. I'm switching my attention to the latest scandal hitting the NYPD and NYFD. Civil employees scamming a system?
Oh wait, that's not news. Muslims taking over the British Empire. Nah, nutin new there either.

How 'bout this new weather gal on CNN? I think she walks a very fine line between classy and slutty. I'd opine that a great red dress will take a gal farther than a little black one. She helps with warming the ship under my command! Oh yeah.

There's help out there. It's called FACTS.
Others kicked it off. Steve, I haven't heard ONE fact from you, just a faint echo of weak arguments. It would be better if we just ignore each other, I guess.

So you're saying the global warming phenomenon is more of a local one.
Had more pipes freeze last night. Can't wait till it gets back up to 30F!
