Ha Ha. I gave serious thought to letting my boat speak for itself by naming it "Blow Me" (sailboat, get it?). Then I thought about screaming the name into the VHF as I was sinking and I decided that nobody would come and save me.

Waranus sounds more elegant. Just make sure your graphic designer doesn't put in an extra space after the "r".

I would have thought this would have settled the question once and for all.
That aside I like "Varanus" or something similar but perhaps I am used to the name as Varanus Island is the site of a significant off-shore gas field in this part of the world. And yes, it does have a lot of lizards.

"Waranus"? that sounds to me a bit Geordie (one of the English Northern Hill tribes). "War" = "Your"

I thought this sounds good too but the wife and/or girlfriend might take this as a bad omen.

I think you need to find a new avenue for inspiration.
This one sounds like the worst combination of VDs
