I'd love to have this big fat girl in Isla or Texas but I'm afraid it just doesn't make cents. I've put a lot of money and labor in her but she still needs a lot to be safe "out there". I think I'm better off taking my $$ hit (ouch), writing it off to Education and looking for something closer to home and closer to being ready to sail. I like the idea of putting her on the deck of a cargo ship but I think that would be an entire new Education experience in it's self and I've had enough of those for a little bit.
Thanks again folks. E

I am a fan of the OI41 and also an adventure guy. Pm me some details on ur boat and maybe we can work out some alternatives.

I'd rather be lucky than good.

Re: Can you Tow a boat?

I've been there, done that. Seward, Alaska to Petersburg, Alaska. 34' sloop towed by a 86' crabber. It was in very heavy sea with 20-30 foot seas and 60 knots of wind. My sailboat was towed through the waves and not usually over them. When we did go over the waves we would have surfed down the other side if we were not towing 5 lines tied to aft chocks on each side to act as a sea anchor of sorts. They were each 35' long so pretty close to the stern. That kept the boat going straight ahead while going down waves. Make sure the helm is secure and straight ahead.

Re: Can you Tow a boat?

Did you intend to revive a thread that has been more moribund for 7.5 years?
