Buying First Boat

Well i finished my ASA101...it was great learned much still reading a lot of different material...i would like to buy a boat some were in the 19-22 ft range... trailer would be good. Maybe start off in one of the many lakes here in south eastern Carolina. What should i look for to have on the boat make, brand, equipment ? So any input will be welcome . Thank you all once again. Oh let us not forget the money factor 1000-2500 . I think that might be a good starting point. Thank you Mark
