EBAY and Craigslist are the best options I've found for mostly owner sales.

You might try traderonline.com also.

Bought mine through Craigslist. Yachtworld and boattrader are very useful for research, but I was very patiently trolling for an incredibly good deal, distress sale kind of thing, which I think you'll find most often on Craigslist. No broker fees, no listing fees, just the wild west of boat selling. Lots and lots of junk, but some gems too.

Re: buying a yacht in the U.S.A.

If you are looking for a particular make or model boat, then the class/owner website is a great place to visit. Sailing Texas has boats beyond TX, sailboat listings.com is another one I recall. Latitude 38 has listings; so does Sailing Anarchy, which are a bit more racer-oriented. Sailing and cruising magazines and regional boating magazines will have yet more. x. sailboatowners.com is another. Charities that take donated boats, such as Challenged America and many community sailing centers, will have boats.
