A good broker will do his or her best to convince the owner to prepare the boat for sale
(i.e. clean it up) and list at a reasonable price
. If the owner refuses, a good broker won't spend alot of time trying to perfume the pig. The good broker will move on, saying, "here's another listing that might interest you."
After the boat remains unsold for 2-3 years the owner may wise up. If not, the executor of the owner's estate will have the unenviable task of disposing of a nearly worthless hulk.
