Wow, that seems like it would have a big impact...seems the Indo mafia runs all the boat boys around here. Do you know what has prompted this change, and where can I read up on it?

the thinking behind the change seems to be reasonable ... push for jobs for locals, boat boys need to be regulated and insured against accidents, etc.

except that it is creating havoc amongst the local boating community ... finding a local to do the same job is damn near impossible ...

& i hear that they are going to tighten this even further ... it's already happening in other areas here ...

Regarding the transfer fees in One15, the club will charge it at the rate they think you should be paying. Quite a lot more, I believe, and you will have to negotiate with the member you are taking it from.

Might we meet you here in the club one day? Welcome to the forum too.
Thanks for the fast reply mates. Really appreciated.
I can't fnd anything on ICA or MOM regarding Indonesian nationals will not be allowed with regards to crewing of Singapore licensed vessels. In fact, I can't find anything about boat crews from their websites. Maybe I should try MPA.
But I did read from MOM that employing of foreigners for Marine industry is a ratio of 1 singaporean to 5 foreigners. Levy is $330.

Anyone now employing indonesian crew/s or know of anyone? May I know what's the rough monthly salary range?

Thanks for reading
Cheers

I guess its was just wishing thinking on my part. If it was 14K inclusive of transfers and admin, I would be really interested.

Cheers

You can check with a fellow member of CSC, John (sails a boat called Olmeto). I saw him carting his old cushions off a few weeks back.

Hope to see you out sailing soon... that is if I can see through the haze!
