Just saw pics of Navy Seals and some of their training pics. Now spending a night floating in the open ocean with these guys around me, I could sleep like a baby.

That's right, all you see are gator eyes shining in the spotlight; packed in shoulder to shoulder. It's unnerving and tough not to feel like the all night buffet even when you're motoring along on your boat.
It's still a lovely place to transit and should be way down there on your list of possible endings.
If it scares you, don't do it.

I take the navy seals vs the occasional shark in the ocean but not vs the gators in Lake Okeechobee.

Especially in May and June when the gators are extra aggressive and mating.
