Being an owner of both kinds of staysails, I definitly find the boomed rig more troublefree, and good for closequarter stuff. The same can be said for furling vs hanked headsails. Follow your own tastes, they all work. Pretty boat by the way, and nice bowsprit.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the advice on my staysail. I'm back from a week's sailing after fitting a boom vang to the stailsail boom. It REALLY made a big difference, close winded sailing with much less heeling, absolutely brilliant!
