never mind...that was because it was Winter in New York.

Heavy Weather Sailing - you should read it but possibly not her!

Red Sky in Mourning by Tami Ashcraft - inspiring but desperately sad.

Possibly (tho this book goes two ways) the very wonderful Two in a Boat by Gwynneth Lewis. This is as much a story of their marriage as anything, but with some very hard parts in it about both sailing/living aboard and relationships. Beautifully written by the then National Poet for Wales.

The Voyage of Baraka A by Mary Stephenson - actually an inspiring tale but it has some frightening bits in it.

Once is Enough by Miles Smeeton. Some of us might be inspired by Beryl Smeeton swimming back to the boat after being knocked overboard in the Southern Ocean when their boat was not just dismasted by de-decked! But maybe not for the timid ....

LOL ..I have been noticing a correlation with the titles...but there is some sleepers out there...Still waiting for a transfer from another thread..That title was definitely misleading according to the reader.

Like an idiot I handed 117 days adrift to my wife last week.
It was a impulse buy at a used bookstore which has sat unopened on our headboard for 6 months. Last week my wife wanted something to read and I handed it to her and said that it might have some good tips in it, just in case.

Shortly thereafter she started crying about a sea turtle they tried to butcher, badly..
What was I thinking..
