hey yall, yes i am a fairly new member, and i have done a lot of reading in these forums and i am now regretting that i didn't take notes of the names of books that various people have made note , and i now need help in finding theses books mentioned in the forums

So im wondering if there might be some one who could start a thread to keep track of all the books that people might need in the do it your self categories

and recommendations from people who have actually used these books to build or repair an item on their own boat, i have tried to use the search thing but have not had any success, and yes i have been on amazon,, but i trust the postings in these forums more than amazon , thanks

Re: Books

Hiya Oogie! From the top of my head, I'll ask you to do some browsing on for 2 books by ASA (American Sailing Association) was published in 2010 and the other in 2012. In addition, "Nigel Calder" has published several books under his specifically shows you how to troubleshoot marine Diesel engines and electrical systems. The two ASA books, above, are used in hands-on sailing classes; each cost around $25 USD. Good luck! (Disclaimer: Not affiliated with any of these publishers or seller.)

Re: Books

Oogie, Nigel Calder's books are great references as is The 12-volt Bible. Small Diesel Engines is another good resource. If you plan to do any fiberglass repairs get the West Systems guides and The Fiberglass Boat Repair Manual. Also, several books by Don Casey. Chuck
