Re: Boatman's Latest Adventure

Gonzalo changing course?? Now predicted to turn dramatically north just as it passes Scotland and enters North Sea. Helps Boaty to get started sooner?

Playing safe.. tucked in beside the Cuxhaven Lifeboat..
Man that current was fast... drifting down the last mile close in to the docks with the engine just ticking over we were still doing 6.5 knots over ground..
Missed the main marina.. someone in a Bendi was poodling around inside so ducked in the last hole before we ran outa water.. basic but safe..
At the moment it looks like a Thursday start..

good move fri-sat looks doable for getting past dover

might be a bit windy till then! with the remnants of gonzalo heading your way!

meantime back at the ranch over here my "crew" have turned up........could be interesting,we now have a qualified Thai chef, the owners girlfriend, who has offered to do all the cooking........

my comment;thats fine as long as we have at least a weeks worth of hard tack onboard,so I can at least cook bacon and egg sandwiches for everybody if the galley is moving too much.........

target is to have koh samui as the first stop, and spend a week there, then head up to the other islands on the other side of the gulf of Thailand..........

jeese I hate my job......too hot,not much wind, mosquitoes, constantly being propositioned by beautiful Asian girls who only want one thing,my money....and don't respect me for my mind.........

edit: my beautiful "salad girl" who crewed for me on another trip just facebooked me and is in Singapore just by chance at the same time as me and wants to take me out to dinner...................it get tougher lol

problem is the owner doesn't like eating local......I offered to take us all out to dinner for nasi goreng, prawns , sweet and sour pork and a few beers probably would have cost £25 for the lot of us.......but he insisted on hitting the "strip" and spending £125 on Mexican food!

need to do some serious retraining of my crew on how to be real "cruisers"!
