You never know, wind patterns seem to be changing. Last year the ones that went on the traditional course got a lot of head wind, the ones that went up almost to Madeira latitude went downwind all the time...and fast.

But.. she still had two cockpits and lots to flood.. now theres only the little one at the back.. the rest has been decked over so..
Not the best spot to be stuck for a few days so am debating making a run W tomorrow.. right out then tack back in toward Belgium then run the Straits with a beam reach...
But then again maybe not.. see what PW says in the am.. high waters 10am so plenty of time to decide..
I hope everything goes right but those boats were not intended as offshore sailing boats in fact I remember that they did not race when the wind went over medium winds (15K?). I went to the cup finals and it was a drag because half the time they did not race because there was too much wind. They were made to sail fast, but not to sail in big waves and on those conditions I bet a lot of water will be over the deck.

Re: Boatman's Latest Adventure

Hi Boaie,

Predict wind is advising winds of up to 40+ knots between tomorrow and thursday.

Have another beer and bratwurst, snuggle down with your lady and wait it out.

fair winds - following you on spot.

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

Traveler's tip is to pack your own mini's in your carry on liquids ziploc bag... 3 oz max, but no limit on the QTY!
