Boat Layout Drawing

I'm not sure what forum to put this under but I am setting up a website to sell our 35' Endurance and I'd like to draw a layout of the boat interior. Every Endurance is different so I can't seem to find a similar layout. I wonder if anyone knows of a program that would allow me to easily draw a layout. I have moderate computer skills and don't want to pay for anything. Thanks in advance.

Re: Boat Layout Drawing

Sorry I don't know of a good layout program for boats. I would like to use one myself. Let me know if you find something specific to boats.

Here is a layout of the Endurance 35 (from sailboat data files). I am attaching it so others can see that type of boat.

I like the look of the boat. I also like Pilothouse boats.

Ahoy All Sailors! I love traditional sailboats of all kinds (e.g. gaff rigged, schooners, cutters, smacks, woodies, etc.). See my CF Profile "About Me" page for details.

Re: Boat Layout Drawing

Have you tried using just Microsoft Paint?

It is a part of any Windows install (at least till Win 7, I think).

Download any Endurance layout image. Re-size, then erase the layout leaving just the hull line. Then draw in your own layout. Level: easy.

I do it like this as the soft is free and drawing is very easy with just the mouse or a touchpad.

Re: Boat Layout Drawing

Using a drawing as provided by Steady Hand, your moderate computer skills and something like MS Paint, altering the image to suit your layout should be a breeze. Save it as a JPEG and it's easily transferred to your website. I did one of Sailboat Data's drawings of my boat to detail safety gear locations for a CAT 1 inspection, worked a treat and easy as.

Most "drawing" programs require more than moderate computer skills. I am well-proficient with CAD software of various types but I wouldn't want to draft a boat.

Re: Boat Layout Drawing

Thanks Steady Hand and Barnakiel,

I am a Mac girl but my hubby has windows. I'll see if he has Paint and try that. Thanks for the suggestion.

And thanks for posting the layout @Steady Hand. Its not quite the same as ours but the hull is similar. Just no bowsprint on ours. I too love the pilot house - it lets so much light in.
