Boat Insurance in NC

We had damage to our sailboat twice in the summer of 2011. Both times, the boat was properly secured at our dock in a relatively protected harbour. First was due to an electrical storm in July and second was the result of Hurricane Irene in August. Now Allstate is not renewing our policy. We have requested quotes from other companies, and are being denied because we filed 2 claims, even though they were a result of natural disasters. Has anyone else had this experience recently, and where have you found insurance coverage?

Are you working through a marine insurance broker, like IMIS in Grasonville, Md or Jack Martin in Annapolis? If not, I would do so as I am sure that they have experience with your situation.

That stinks. I thought that was why you had insurance. I'm currently with Allstate.

I swore a blood oath many years ago to never give Allstate another dime of my money and I've never seen anything to change my mind.
