We always thought the exchange of cruising cards was fun, but we never expected them to be often saved after giving or receiving. Digital cards can do just as well.

I like the sound of the semi-glossy/water resistant ones. I think I just like the Cruiser app because I can change the email and crew and photo etc anytime I want, which will probably be a necessity as we get older and uglier, or we end up sailing a kayak because I rammed the boat into a wharf in heavy force 2 conditions. The only trouble is that I need to convince the people I meet who have boats to use the same app.

I'm glad to hear there's no special etiquette involved. The world of cruisers can be daunting to enter when you have no idea what you're doing and you meet people whose gunwale was dented during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
