Best America's Cup series EVER!

There was a funny moment today when the main announcer asked the rhetorical "Have you EVER seen AC racing this exciting!", and Jobson meekly said "...well, there was a race in the 1983 series that was pretty good".

Who ever wins the next race has their hands full not turning the event into a giant disappointing yawner.

I don't think even Spielberg could produce something this exciting with this much drama.

I mean, just - WOW!

Just WOW is right!
What an amazing event.
Probably won't be long at all until Spielberg brings it to the big screen.
Very very cool indeed.

Re: Best America's Cup series EVER!

Ya know, I was feeling a little bit silly a couple days ago..

...I mean, it was 8 to 1 and was not looking too good for us.

I drove my van over 4000 miles to watch this.....

I have been to the races every single day since I arrived, and it was tough watching the standings, even when I started this thread. I said then, and say now.... What an incredible show!

This has got to be one of the greatest rallies in sailing history. I am glad NBC has finally started to show some coverage of the race...

Tomorrow is not to be missed!

Go Oracle!

Is it just me or is anyone else just a bit skeptical about this comeback?

Are you thinking the oracle team was sandbagging?

Lot on money on both sides (whatever that means) to be made by having the series go the distance. Some collusion maybe.

Yes, if there is anything Ellison is known for, it is not going for the throat but to jimmy around enough to give the competition a 50:50 chance of taking the entire shebang.

TNZ is known for that also.

And those professional athletes have no qualms about losing - they are more concerned about giving the other guys a good break.

The Boston Redsocks come back from 3-0 to beat the Yankees in the 2004 World Series 4-3 was the best ever in sports! At least in my lifetime.
And you can be certain the Yankees did not 'let' it happen.

New Zealand stops as the racing starts. Glued to the race. It could be half the population. Traffic jams happen after the race as they all quickly try to get to work. A sick feeling is happening to everyone.... its become a nightmare.

By far this has been AWESOME to watch-yesterday in race two when Oracle overcame the Kiwi's my husband and I were jumping up and down and I started looking up flights! One of our best friends called to see what we were up to- he's been an avid sailor and racer for years. We were asking what he thought of the race going on- he. Had QUIT WATCHING when Oracle was down 8-1!! OMG- he was in disbelief issuing so much great racing! Four hours and 10 minutes from now.....I can't wait!

Fixed it. They went on to sweep the Cardinals 4-0 in the World Series. An 8 game winning streak after being written off by many.
