Bareboating Belize

Greetings;
Five of us are headed to Placencia to bareboat out of the Moorings in December. Just looking for anyone who has experience in the waters or with the Moorings down there. Thanks! Mike

Re: Bareboating Belize

Lots of info here.

belize charter - Google Search

The moorings base is quite a ways north of the provisioning spots in town, for the most part the waters are quite easy to navigate. Forget a chartplotter, use your eyes and the rauscher book with an occasional waypoint and you'll be fine.

Mike, I used to live in Belize and work in the charter industry in there. Still work some charters there occassionally. Very familiar with Moorings and all the other charter companies there and of course Belizian waters. What would you like to know?

Also have cruising notes I've developed over the years, rough draft format, meant to be complementary to Freya's excellent guide. Can't attach them on the forum, but PM me your email if you want a copy.
