The thing to remember is that these boats are suddenly accelerated from a 1000nm/yr or less average life style into the equivilant of 4-16yrs hard living in a relatively short time scale of 2-6months.. the boat to OZ sailed nearly 17000 miles in 6 months and the Cat was a freak event where all the electric dumped for some reason leaving flat battaries.. we went through crazy elec storms the night before I realised so if that had anything to do with it..?? Do know the electrician in the Azores could find no reason..
But thats boats..

Re: azores 2014 how safe is it?

if anybody is feeling generous the daughter of one of the "cheeki rafiki" lost at sea
is doing a fund raiser

https://mydonate.bt.com/fundraisers/clairegoslin1

Hello all, my name is Claire and I am Paul Goslin's daughter, one of the crew from the cheeki rafiki. I am doing a sponsored skydive from 15,000 feet (I must be mad!!) to raise money for the dental clinic which was recently opened in Kenya (funded by the charity Dentaid) in dad's memory as he was a dedicated dentist. If anyone would like to donate to my page please follow the link below....any donations would be really appreciated!

Thank you smile emoticon
