Both of the above where very pi$$ed of fish just doing whatever it took to get of the hook, I can't say I have ever seen or heard of one coming back looking for revenge but who knows what evil thoughts are going through there tiny brain....
UNBELIEVABLE STUFF ... I am finally starting to understand our situation with the one that launched itself onto imli and broke off the tip of its bill ... I seriously do not recall it being as big as this one though!

Re: Attacked By Marlin And Other Fish!

salticrak,

We saw a fish like that, draped over, and overlapping fore and aft a runabout at Bora Bora. Somehow, the Polynesian fisherman had managed to slide this huge fish aboard, kind of laid out, lots of overlap on the bow, sort of over where a passenger might have been, and then extending over the stern. The guy was so happy! And he was taking it to be weighed.

What I think is, whether or not the meat is as good as yellowfin, a bunch of villages ate to fullness that night, and that may not be all that common an experience.

A.

Re: Attacked By Marlin And Other Fish!

not exactly fish... But they swim. Got attacked by a dugong in port resolution, tanna is, Vanuatu. Damn thing nearly drowned the skipper while we where out swimming. Apparently the locals had killed his mate and he was pretty pissed off about it. We where chased by a leopard seal in petterman islands antarctica while we where kayaking. Thing stalked us for about 1/4 of an hour while we were holed up on a small rock. V SCARY.. Also had a curious or aggressive minke whale charge and veer away at the last minute missing the stern by inches. It was only a 28 footer and I thought he was going to end up on top of me in the cockpit.
