Aquacraft Boat Corp.

Hi all, I posted this question a while back before I bought my Bruce Roberts 45 built by Aquacraft Boat Corp in Taiwan.
Are there any Aquacraft owners out there? I found the builder only built 4, 3 of which are in the US. Would like to chat with any other owner.
Thanks all!

Re: Aquacraft Boat Corp.

I have an Aquacraft Bruce Roberts and I have been shocked at the dearth of info available online! I have found basically nothing. I saw a couple on Facebook that just got one and was inspired to start looking again and found your post. Do you still have yours?

Re: Aquacraft Boat Corp.

They may have only built a few boats but they were professionally done. I read a survey on one and I believe the boat had done extensive ocean cruising. It was definitely a Bruce Roberts 45. The corporate office might have been in the north but a lot of boats were built in the south by very small companies.
It might be very difficult to find more information but you might not need it for a total refit as structurally they are sound and simple yachts.
I sailed along the southern coast on a Hood which had been built there. Nicely done. The metal work should be examined carefully especially stainless and bronze. Older boats are...well, old...so you know what projects to look at.
But please remember, some very expensive and beautiful yachts came from very small boatyards in the south. Good boatbuilders...yes. Some inferior parts...yes too. Aquacraft had a good reputation and I’d bet some are still sailing.
Congratulations. Fix her up, she is worth it.
