Back in '89, the electronics
were very limited, and many boats still of plywood
construction. Most true, serious, sailors, SMEETON'S, ROTH, HISCOCK, PARDEY's used very basic setups and the KISS principle, many sailed wooden boats around the world back then and most did just fine. We still prefer and practice the KISS method on very basic and traditional craft even though we have limited electronics
We were sailing during '89 but do not recall
this incident being in the news or in mags, although I'm sure it was.
All in all pretty good viewing last night. Red Box Rental.
