I found the boat I have now on Craigslist, but meanwhile, the owner listed her with a broker.
She was a nightmare. On the way out for the sea trial she bragged about all the sailing she had done in the Caribbean

SHIP! I think she went as passenger, because she really did not know much about sailing. Coming in Clearwater Pass on the way back, there was a green marker to port, and a red market to starboard, right opposite each other.
She went outside the red marker and it wasn't two feet before she had run us aground. She didn't know anything about the boat. I got the impression she didn't know much about boats period.
I don't think there's any test you have to take of boating
knowledge to be a boat broker
The owner figured this out and fired her.
