Talking Another Day, Heavier Winds and a New Blog

Hello everyone, first I know that some of you have been enjoying my "learning curve" so I started a blog so I don't keep cluttering up the board here with posts that don't pose a question. So here it is.

Now for yesterday it was FUN! It was a very different day on the Gulf of Mexico, heavier winds, maybe the limit of the boat the way it is equipped. Anyhow I started with both the main and the foresail but quickly got a little scared with how much the boat was heeling and dropped the foresail, just using the mainsail. But still managed to get the boat up to the highest speed I have seen so far about 4.5 knots, with the wind at my back. Heck I was making almost 2 knots on the way back! The seas were between 2 and 4 feet but I didn't take any water over the sides or the bow. It might have been even better if I hadn't gotten scared and continued using the foresail, maybe if I had way to reduce the size of either of the sails, but that would likely require more money, I don't want to put any more into the "Yo-Ho", I'd rather save for a bigger boat.
