Anchoring Jerks

100% sure-fire way to avoid getting all worked up over people anchoring too close: Move.

If someone is a little too close for comfort, we: 1) Give a friendly smile and wave. 2) Call up our 3- and 5-year olds to go fishing on deck (this is very effective at persuading people not to anchor "too close") and, after an hour or so, 3) Move if the other guy hasn't and we think it is still unsafe.

i fish. in my bathing suit--if the lady of the boat dislikes that--they relocate quickly.

i actually have a shape, and not to bad a shape. some females dislike their men being anchored too close to a SINGLE female with SHAPE.

if that doesnt work, there is always litter box duty......

I remember a character whom we called "Different John." The guy was almost 7 feet tall, in his late 60s, bald as a baby but with lots of hair everywhere else. When this subject came up as a group of us one night were talking about crowded anchorages (in Chagos of all places!) he told us, "I just walk around topsides nekkid. Clears out an anchorage real fast."

I find it ironic that, as an online community, you guys are very willing to embrace new members and are wonderful about giving advice while at the same time, proudly post about how much of a prick you have been to someone in the real world who, possibly, wasn't as knowledgeable as you and could have benefitted from your wisdom. Absolutely amazing.

It's been my experience that most pricks who anchor on top of me are experts and aren't interested in any advice, which is why the loud music from me.
No words required, and since I started using this technique, no one has anchored close.

The music would be playing loud before they anchored, it is their choice to drop a pick and stay.
If they then complain they are no better than the people who buy inner city apartments next door to a well established music venue and then complain to the authorities about the loud music.
You would have to worry about the intelligence of such people.
