There have been some notable cases of winning the Darwin without ceasing to have a heartbeat.

Such as the guy who managed to blow his "package" off playing with a shotgun.
He's not going to be breeding any time soon.

Today there is a video of a 'Adventurer' (yes, the title on Yahoo News was 'Adventurer paddles close to lava flow'.

This video shows a woman on a surf board paddling kinda close to lava flows as it hits the ocean. Looks like Hawaii.

Now...should the authorities rope off that area so no one gets hurt?

I vote 'No'.

I vote yes, but only because I've never seen anybody "Rope Off" a lava flow. It would make a great you tube video.

Course we'd be giving the Darwin award to whoever it was that was trying to rope it off to make it safe.....

I vote: irrelevant.

Because it is not about what some authorities tell you to do or not.

Some believe that a god tells humans not to do this or that. The same people tend to completely disregard what their god says. The same applies to govts. They will ask you not to do what they do everyday. Like living off somebody else's taxes. JUST DISREGARD and live as you want/can.

Think about whether it is something that should be done, something worth dying because of.

Then think about shooting a video with a dslr with a long telephoto.

Then think about why people do sth vs. why people show off (e.g. on youtube).

That's probably enough. Govts do not like people who think too much.

Interesting when people do stuff. Paddling a surf board close to a lava flow. It was probably safe because of the gradual danger. They said the water was getting hotter the closer they got.

The Alaskan glacier flows the same thing. The cruise shops stay far away from ice breaking off. But there is a video of a private small boat closer when a huge chunk of ice breaks off and creates a huge wave. The boat escapes and creates an interesting video. If the boat sinks there is no video and the people are dead in 2 minutes in ice cold water.

There is an attraction to doing dangerous things. The payoff, if you survive is high.

There is a reason some humans have that exploration gene.
