The article makes it sound like these guys are forced to sail these boats against their will. I seriously doubt that.

I, and many other I think, would absolutely love the chance to get aboard one of these boats. I really envy these crews.

But like almost any sport where you can go faster than a human can run, there is a risk. I'm sure they all knew that going in.

Racing is about speed, and in almost every form of racing, the pinnacle of the sport is the fastest category. I doubt if any of these sailors would be wishing their boat was slower.
