There is a good anchorage at Royal Island on the north end as you come in. Very protected, and would be a good place to rest up if needed. Be careful going through
Current Cut. Watch your tides.
One of the coolest places we have ever seen was the Glass Window. Don't miss this!.
Anchor someplace close, and
dinghy ashore where this is a small beach. Walk the road to the bridge at the Glass Window.
Governors Harbour was a nice stop for us.
Go to the Ocean Hole in Rock Sound. Pretty cool. Also, a very good place to provision. There is a large grocery store, a bank, liquor store, etc. Friendly people. We found Eleuthera quite different from
Abaco and the
Exumas. Not as
remote as the Exumas, but without all the
commercial feel of
Abaco. Try it, you'll like it. Typically, good sailing too because of
wind direction and protection from the Atlantic.
