There is a good anchorage at Royal Island on the north end as you come in. Very protected, and would be a good place to rest up if needed. Be careful going through Current
Cut. Watch your tides.
One of the coolest places we have ever seen was the Glass Window. Don't miss this!. Anchor
someplace close, and dinghy
ashore where this is a small beach. Walk the road to the bridge at the Glass Window.
Governors Harbour was a nice stop for us.
Go to the Ocean Hole in Rock Sound. Pretty cool. Also, a very good place to provision. There is a large grocery store, a bank, liquor store, etc. Friendly people. We found Eleuthera quite different from Abaco
and the Exumas
. Not as remote
as the Exumas, but without all the commercial
feel of Abaco
. Try it, you'll like it. Typically, good sailing too because of wind
direction and protection from the Atlantic.
