A Tough Day on the Water in Hawaii
Here is a youtube link of a sad situation where boat ended up on the rocks.
Many times I go out the nearby channel and mentally calculate how many seconds I would have to get down an anchor if engine failed. It would not be many in a narrow channel with typical 20+ winds.

A really bad day around the water in paradise for sure. Sounds more like folks were un-perpaired than accidents except for the surfer. I have friends who surf 6 months a year in Hawaii.
