While the title of the thread is "reasonably blanaced" I think it does give a reasonably balanced description of SOME of the advantages and disadvantageous of the mono or multi.

Folks have been mentioning the difference in a rolly anchorage. Good point.

That IS something to think about.

I just can't imagine doing without some of my favorite pastimes while cruising and how those might be affected by my choice of a boat, between a Mono or Multi.

To see that on a boat (a mono), is VERY impressive.

She's pretty and obviously enjoying herself on the boat, despite the cool ambient temp.

Now….about the thing she's doing with the cards…that's pretty impressive too.

Ha!Both stabilizers out, sat on mud on the calmest day in the history of the West.

Meanwhile on the Cat-during a force 7 in Biscay, whilst rescuing 3 people from misery and seasickness on a Mono, 1200 Dominos were stood up and did not move for 5 hours until 8 year old Simon set off the run from the saloon to the front cabin.

I might have fibbed about the force 7, being in Biscay, rescuing people and the dominoes standing up for 5 hours. Indeed, and that is not a photo of Simon...

But Simon was with me and we did have a smooth sail, he steered for a lot of the trip whilst drinking a can of coke which never fell over once, to Burger King as his birthday treat in Cardiff from Bristol. We are still in amazement how he managed to tie his coat to the cleat with himself still in it but thats another story.......
