A Francophone Cruisers Forum ?

Hi All,

Does anyone know of a site like CruisersForum for French speakers? I looked in the Links section, but no go.

I'm sizing up the feasibility of crossing from Thailand to the US west coast by crewing next autumn. If I take a southern route via French Polynesia and then find a boat going north to Hawaii, I imagine the skippers will be French-speaking.

I have a post in the Crew Positions forum if you're interested. I hope mentioning that in this forum doesn't violate cross-posting rules.

Au revoir,

Robert Burns

Aww, there's no site like CruisersForum! ;-)

The first site that came to mind for your purposes was
Forum Vogavecmoi, voile ou moteur : croisière, régate, pêche en mer, voyage
but I've never looked at it with French Polynesia in mind.

Others to look at, and where you can probably get good tips:
Voiles & Voiliers • Page d
FORUM Bateau
Le Nautisme au Qubec: Forum

There are quite a few marque-specific forums, which could be worth checking out, and lots of local ones.

HTH.

Man you are in so much trouble.
Just kidding you Robert..its not a violation that I can see.
I think you may be surprised at how many English speakers you'll find coming out of FP.
Good luck finding a boat out of there, and happy sails!

Hello !
This is the most famoust sailing french forum (thousands of members) :
Bateaux autour du monde - Sail The World - L'Univers de la grande croisière en voilier - STW
Though its name is "Sailing The World", this web site is only in french for instance. (I am a member of it too).
In the Menu go first to "Forum", then to "Café du port", there you can ask questions or read threads. You have also a search engine "Moteur de recherche"
But, i suppose you speak french !

Thanks for all the links -- it's a lot to chew on. They're really great for learning terminology and slang.

A bientôt,

Robert
