3rd Party US VESSEL DOCUMENTATION ...

I recently received a letter with the Officially looking heading of US VESSEL DOCUMENTATION. Looks legit right. Stated my name address and in bold letters VESSEL REINSTATEMENT COURTESY NOTICE. It of course goes on to give a phone number and website. I'm thinking, didn't I do this online last fall, so I went through the steps of checking out the website and on the very bottom is listed NOT the U.S. Coast Guard or the National Vessel Documentation Center. Next step was to check my Vessel Documentation on the real CG website and of course I am good until November 2017. Point being this 3rd party would have been happy to take my CCard and charge me $75.

While this site may be legit, it still seems rather deceitful.

I got burned by these people as well. Don't fall for it. You can pay $26 to the CG or $75 to these a..h...s

ONLY use this website and pay $26 to the CG, not $75.

Here's a press release from BOAT US.
They even give you contact info for the US Post Office if you feel the renewal letter is deceptive and wish to file a complaint.
