30' with Tiller

Can anyone suggest what make of boats there are that they would recommend that are a good, fast cruiser, 30' in length, with tiller steering?

Re: 30' with Tiller

Fast is relative, but my Alberg 30 is a nice cruiser and she has a tiller.

Sail Calculator Pro v3.53 - 2500+ boats

Above is a link to a great production boat info site

Also consider
Tartans
Cals
Ranger
Columbias
Searunner(tri)
Corsair(tri)

Another link I like, a library of boats that are or have been for sale. It's a great way to see owner pictures of a particular boat design, and can give you an idea of what they sell for.Sailboat Photo Gallery, A

Good luck, happy boat shopping

Funny coincidence: I saw this film, featuring a very well-travelled Alberg 30, last night at my YC's "Sailors' Night":

Re: 30' with Tiller

I would add the Yankee-30 to your list. A sweet sailing S&S design that is useful for coastal or offshore work. I owned hull 123, did 25000 miles in her including SF-Hawaii-SF and lots of trips up and down the California coast. Also did a lot of single-hand racing i n her, and found that I could sail her to her rating by myself... something that the more modern boats (Olsen 30 for instance) had difficulty doing.

Good luck in your search.

Agreed, although I love Albergs too (hence the Ariel in my fleet)
