12 volt timer?

Does anyone have a source of a 12 volt timer?
I am looking for a timer that can be set to turn on for 1/2 hour, and off after 1/2 hour, continouslly.
It's for an old 12 volt frige unit that won't shut off. A new thermostat didn't cure it.
Any source?

You'll need a high current version, hence the price. OR, if you're electron savey and can solder one can be made from parts from Radio Shack. It's basically a 12v relay with contacts that can handle the refig's current draw controlled by a 555 timer IC. The internet has a billion examples of 555 timer circuits you can copy.

It might be cheaper (and certainly "better") to repair the fridge (thermostat &/or relay).

OK, I'm scratching my head here. If you have a new thermostat, and IT WORKS, how could your system continue running, when the thermostat cuts off power to it? That makes no sense...

We don't understand it either. My friends that have the boat, are visiting, and their boat is on the West Coast.
To me it sounds like the thermostat is bad, But he put in a new one.
With the thermostat hooked up, it will start up and run a while. Then it will cycle off. But when it tries to start it tries 3 times and goes into a wait mode.
By bypassing the thermostat, and connecting the wires, it starts. When tou disconnect the wires it stops, and will restart, when reconnected.
I think the new thermostat is bad.
