White City Florida free docks

I've seen a review of the White City "free" dock - saying that there is no overnite dockage allowed. Can someone confirm this?

Re: White City Florida free docks

Not sure about overnight at White City (might not be legal or a good idea). Just a little to the west Wetappo Creek crosses the GCICWW and I have spent many nights on the northern branch just off the water way. Just anchor in the middle of the creek and put out a couple of good anchor lights. Reasonable swinging room and not much boat traffic this time of year.

I assume you know about the 50 ft fixed bridges around these parts.

Re: White City Florida free docks

Have spent about 6 nights total at white city. Last time I was there the docks were failing. The floating dock was our usual choice on the east side away from the ramps. Locals come and fish. The otters play. You can catch trout, redfish, and flounder alone with others from the overlook. The convenient store was closed about half a mile north at that time. Never any problem and the old man that takes care of the restrooms was always nice.

You can also use the sea wall in appalacacola for a night or two. Was never asked to pay but that could have changed.

Re: White City Florida free docks

I've stayed there overnight many times over the years. However, my last time through there were some new signs stating no overnight docking.

I asked some locals and they had not noticed the signs. And said things to the effect of, "that ain't right".

I stayed one night that time, a few months ago.
