What are the best cruiser-friendly stops n Florida?

We are in Brunswick, GA and are trying to plan our trip forward through Florida. Jumping off to Freeport in December. What is the best cruiser-friendly port to jump off from?

What are the best cruiser-friendly stops along the way there? We are looking good anchorages or affordable moorings and accessible provisioning.

Side trips are the best part of cruising that's how I found those places on the way to the Bahamas.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. We intend to stay on the coast as we have a tight time line.

None of the places suggested seem great for jumping off to Freeport. Is there a preferred hangout for cruisers waiting for a weather window to cross?

Stuart hands down especially Sunset Bay Marina for mooring ball/marina, or Lake Worth/ Port of Palm Beach for anchoring out

Lake Worth is a common anchoring spot for the jump to West End, Freeport or Lucaya.

Lake Worth/Old Port Cove Marina-close to a west marine, Publix, banks, all kinds of shopping. I wouldnt want to jump off from anywhere north of lake worth Inlet due to the gulf stream current.

We have crossed from FL to Lucaya many times. Always found Vero Beach the best place to wait on a weather window. Great City Marina with low rates on mooring balls. This time of year most boats are also waiting to cross. Great town for cruisers- free bus service - stops at West Marine - Publix - can take you to a large Mall and Sam's Club. From the marina you can walk or dingy to the beach. Also a large park nearby and a sports bar next door for catching NFL games. What more could you want.

We sometimes positioned to Lake Worth and then departed around midnight with an arrival early aft noon in Lucaya the next day. Check in there is usually painless. We also had success leaving from Ft Pierce inlet around 5:00 PM running south along the beach using the counter-current til we passed Lake Worth inlet about midnight and then sailing East letting the Gulf Stream push up up to the Latitude of Lucaya.

I just sat out some nasty weather on the mooring ball at Titusville. When I left I came down to Cocoa, there is a courtesy dock you can tie up a for three hours and the Anchorage isn't bad. In cocoa village there are many shops and restaurants. Also a very good hardware store with marine items.

Not sure whether you are a powerboat or sail but you can jump off from Stuart. If sailing you may want to go further south.
