Venezuela Check-in Spots ?

Without starting a firestorm I would like to know where the "better/safer" check-in places are currently in Venezuela. We will be coming from the east. Thanks

Working link: Noonsite: Venezuela
Read the main page, then the pages for each port of entry

Carenero * , Carupano * , Cumaná (Puerto Sucre) * , La Guaira & Caraballeda * , Los Testigos * , Pampatar, Margarita * , Porlamar, Margarita * , Puerto La Cruz *
*Indicates a port of entry.

Noonsite is my first stop for such things. Then maybe the Cruising wiki:

Venezuela - a Cruising Guide on the World Cruising and Sailing Wiki

Re: Venezuela Check-in Spots ?

was there last summer, did: Greneda - Los Testogos (you can stay a couple of days by checking in with the coast guard, but not an official entry), Porlamar(Margarita), Cubagua, Laguna Grande (that was incredible), La Tortuga, Los Roques, Aves - Bonaire.

- I did not check out to prevent going to the continent.
- Travel with some other boats in line of sight, do not anchor alone, do not stay too long at the same spot.

Re: Venezuela Check-in Spots ?

I don't think there are any "better/safer" places but the most popular or frequented check-in places are Porlamar and P.L.C.
