Re: US Dollar Checks Accepted in Bahamas?

You can get credit cards that do not charge exchange fees as a feature. Also, your maximum liability in case of hacking is $50 with a credit card. With debit, they can drain your account and the bank won't do anything about it.

Cash attracts the wrong kind of attention, and shopkeepers talk.

Get the right credit card and use it. It's by far the safest method.

Not pushing CapitalOne because of high interest rate, but they do not charge exchange fees when used.. They also exchange at that days rate, not wait for rate to go up before charge..If you pay it off and avoid interest it seems the best at least for us...Ted.

I use capitalOne for travel as well but didn't want to advocate for the same reason. Set it up to auto-pay so you don't have to deal with their usury interest rates. That way you get all the benefits with no downside and you can travel for months without worrying about banking.

That's a solid solution. I had no idea about capitalOne. Always considered them more expensive but for avoiding exchange fees and paying off each month, that's a great tip.
