Suggestions for 3-4 Days Near Bimini

Hello all: I usually have time just to make the crossing from Miami to Bimini, stay a night or 2, and head back. In January, I'm planning for a slightly longer (3-4 day) stay. I am looking for suggestions about a good itinerary and/or recommendations regarding good anchorages or marinas (or both) within a day's sail of Bimini (or each other). Thanks for your help. pete

Not much within a day of Bimini. Gun Cay, Cat Cay a little bay called Honeymoon Bay? - been nearly twenty years since I was there. Shot my first fish there, a slow moving but good eating trigger. The anchoring east of Gun is not the best for holding. You have to go to the Berrys for anything interesting but I don't think you've enough time to get there and back. I would sail south from Bimini and go between Gun and Cat and have a look around.

Ditto on Vasco. 20 years later, Gun and Cat and Honeymoon are still there Not much else within shot unless you take another day or two and head up towards maybe Lucaya, or head East towards Chub/Berry Islands.

Have fun.

For diving, and snorkeling there's the wreck just south of Bimini. In early summer there's usually lots of rays in Honeymoon Harbour. I don't know about the rest of the year? You do realise weather may not be in your favor for such a short schedule?.......i2f
