San Blas to Colombia

We are strongly considering heading over to Cartagena for some boat work and inland travel. Doing a bit of research and looking for more/current input here.

Window: Looks like May/June is a settled time to scoot over. Trades are down and summer squalls should not have increased yet. Yes?

Route: Seems the easiest is down to Cabo Tiburon, make papers, then overnight to Cartagena from there. Any reasonable stops between Cabo Tiburon and Cartagena? Other route suggestions?

Paperwork: Looks like clear out/in around Cabo Tiburon (Obaldia). As I understand it you clear out in Olbadia and then check in just over The Colombian border there, but must wait till Cartagena to make full official papers. Right? And, you must use an agent in Cartegena. Agent recommendations?

Other suggestions?
