I havent docked at San Andreas, only anchored, but there is a small, basic, marina there (Nene's).
Not my favorite anchorage (busy harbor, mixed bottom...), but San Andreas is a pretty island...I recommed exploring.
The usual
route from the Rio is to the Bay Islands, wait for
weather, jump to Vivarillos or continue on "around the bend".
For
security reasons, I suggest going to
Belize first and then sail down to the Bay Islands, not the direct route from the Rio...this keeps you well off the trouble prone Honduran mainland.
Providencia is also a great stop and our preference.
Good
fishing in the area.
Lots of other small island groups and banks to explore.
BUT....there have been some serious
security issues in the NE of the Nicaraguan Banks. Full on oraganized
piracy...motherships, multiple pangas, armed
men,etc. See CSSN for details.
