Sailor in Soper's Hole/Frenchman's who can do a welfare check?

Hi all,

We haven't heard from my Uncle John Scurci on Frenchman's Cay since Irma's early hours on the sixth. I'm hoping someone may know a sailor with a DeLorme or sat phone who is in Soper's hole and could do a welfare check on him and communicate back to let us know he's alright. Feel free to PM me, but also wanted to include directions to his house from my Aunt Tamara in case anyone has a direct connection and could pass it on:

John is on Emerald Reef at Dolphin Estates. To get to the house you continue past the boat yard, up the gravel road to Maynard's new houses, through the gateway and bear left straight up the hill into the driveway just beyond Jacaranda.

We weren't initially worried as first reports made clear there were no fatalities, but conflicting information has come out and others seem to have been able to reach out with a cell signal - which makes us worried that we haven't heard from John. It appears the roads have washed out in the area limiting outside contact. We've been in touch with Voyage (their base is in Soper's Hole) and with Jody Pieschel of Where the Coconuts Grow but have not received positive confirmation yet. We're also following the Facebook group for BVI Abroad, but I thought sailors might be well-equipped with satellite devices to assist if they are in the area. Thanks,

Dan

Hiya, please disregard above. We just got word that John is safe. Communications were a little slower coming back on that part of the island I guess. Very grateful for happy news!
