Re: Sailing in Belize for Beginners

We spent a couple of months in Belize on our last sailing trip. Lighthouse and Turneffe reefs were awesome. Other than that I would skip Belize. Inside the barrier reef the water is murky and all the islands are mangrove, very few beaches and no good diving. Also the people were not nearly as friendly as the rest of the NW carib. Every time we went into a town someone was asking for a handout or trying to sell us drugs.
