pirate Run to Bimini

I've made the crossing from Ft. Lauderdale and Boca many times in my larger boat, which I no longer have, but I have some friends that want to make the crossing. The current boat is my dingy to my previous boat and it was usually towed. Running to Bimini we want to do and this boat is just over 20 feet so I'm looking for someone go in tandum sometime soon.
Any takers.
We would be coming out of Lighthouse point.
Thanks all.

Re: Run to Bimini

I can run up to about 50 MPH but I prefer to go a comfortable speed depending on the seas

Advertising on a sailboat forum for buddy-boating across the Florida Current you should expect to throttle way back, to about 5 or 6 knots.

If your 50 knot dink is twin engined with proper communication and safety gear, you should be able to go solo with no concerns if the weather and sea-state is decent. If it is not, stay at the marina.
