Route from Kittery, Maine to the Georgetown Exuma

Planning a trip from Kittery, Maine to Georgetown Exuma and was looking for advice from someone that has sailed that route in the past. We plan on departing between the last week of October and the first week of November, depending on the weather window. We do not plan on stopping. Last season We stopped in Newport, RI and then in Annapolis for a few weeks. We sailed out of Annapolis for 5.5 days and arrived in Elizabeth Harbor off Georgwtown. This year we don't have the time or need to stop and are deciding between hugging the coast inside the stream and crossing off Annapolis or takeing a more straight line approach from Maine crossing the stream farther north. Any info from someone that actually sailed the route would be a big help. Thanks
